Most of my dog portraits have been done with soft pastels. To the right, is the portrait of Smokey, my third Weim. He lived to be eleven. He was bred by Susan Thomas, now of Ashaway Rhode Island's Camelot Kennels. Woody was also bred at Camelot. Now, I have another Weim from Camelot. His name is Rudy. His portrait is on the next page.
Above, is a portrait of Smokey's Mum, Star, at the age of thirteen. She lived to be fifteen, which is a long life for a dog of her size. You can see the family resemblance. Star won the Best of Breed at the Westminster Dog Show when she was about three years old. Smokey and his Mum had a reunion a couple of years ago. We let them run free on Sue's property for about an hour and they both seemed to have a great time.
