Like me, others in my broader family are strong lovers of dogs. To the right, is Sable, a female Rotweiler that was owned by my nephew, Steve. I did this painting for Steve and his family. Unfortunately, soon after the portrait was completed, Sable passed, so I was glad that I was able to have captured her when she was still a vibrant member of the family.
Above right, is Steve's current dog, Ursa. She is a good-size, furry black female with big, brown eyes. She is most attached to Paula, Steve's wife.
I was not as fortunate in knowing Timmy, (upper left) a cute Maltese, who passed long before I heard of him. But, Timmy was much loved by his Mistress, my cousin, Sandy. So, I was able to do the portrait from old photos of Timmy. Luckily, they showed his personality which I tried to capture in his portrait.
