The Delaney family are neighbors in Annisquam. We've known their daughter, Cate, since she was three years old. We used to see her in church on Sundays with her Dad. Now, she has graduated from Gloucester High School. She had a very successful career as an athlete and capped it off by being selected as Gloucester's top female athlete of the 2019-2020 season.
To commemorate the event, I did an oil painting of Cate playing field hockey. She is continuing her field hockey career at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
I also watched her younger brother, Jack, grow up in our neighborhood. He was also a top athlete at Gloucester HS in both Golf and Hockey. I followed his career in the local newspaper and saw an account and photo of him scoring an exciting goal against Winthrop. Above is the painting I did to capture that moment. He will be attending Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.
